DIY New Year’s Eve Noisemakers For Kids

What can we do to keep the little children entertained while waiting for the New Year’s Eve countdown? They could play games, watch movies, eat, and be merry. But there’s one more way that kids will surely enjoy as they wait — crafting!

Paper Plates Shaker

What you need:

How to:

  1. Let your kids decorate both plates
  2. Make the shaker’s handle by gluing the tip of the popsicle stick onto the edge of the plate
  3. Let dry
  4. You may add ribbon strips in the surrounding of the paper plate
  5. Put in the uncooked pasta
  6. Close your shaker by covering the plate with another plate
  7. Seal the sides of the shaker with staples all around the plates
  8. Continue decorating if desired

Paper Cups Noisemaker

How to:

  1. Prepare your materials
  2. Put in uncooked pop corn in one of the paper cups
  3. Cover the paper cup with another paper cup
  4. Seal them with clear tape
  5. Shake the noisemaker to check if the cups are completely taped together
  6. Start decorating the paper cups with different colors of washi tapes

Water Bottle Shakers

  1. Decorate the bottles with your chosen materials. You may wrap the bottles in washi tapes or stickers
  2. Tie ribbons around the neck of the bottles
  3. Put in beads, pebbles, uncooked popcorn or pasta
  4. Place back the caps in the bottles
